Ok, we tackled the first option last week in this post. Now it is time to talk about the more difficult option of 'Smokey Eyes'.
This one is not about the 'mysterious put together' eye look, but is considered the 'elegant and most known' option.
Maybe I am wrong for using the terminology 'smokey', but there is definitively some gradation going on...

You can make this eye look as complex as you like. Just keep in mind that the gradation has to go from lightest in the inner corner to the darkest in the outer V. For the sake of this article, I kept it at three colours: a light golden pink, a cranberry and a dark brown.

The first step is to define the crease, this is the "line" where you can feel the bone under your eyebrow. This is important to blend everything smoothly together. I used a very light brown shade, but as I already said, you can build this up to the gradation/ colour/ smokiness you like.

Step 2 is to apply the lightest shade all over the eyelid, up to the crease. After that, you choose a darker shade and apply this on the outer half of your eyelid (keep the inner corner light). When done, blend everything together using a light hand.

Step 5 is to choose your darkest colour and the draw a V-shape in the outer corner of the eyes. It is up to you to drag this colour more into the crease or not. My final step here is to blend this V until it is all soft and smokey again.

If you want to add more depth and dimension you can blend the V and the darker shade that you put on the outer half, together with another dark colour. For example: if your outer colour is purple and the V-colour is black, blend these two together by using a dark purple.

Tadaaaaaa! It is the most common known "smokey eye". It is worn daily by a lot of women. Daily? Yeah, you just go with more soft and neutral colours!

What do you think?
